Sprint Launched June 12 and July 10, 1999
The first and second launches of John Cipolla's Sprint ABM high power rocket were successful. The Sprint ABM was powered by the RMS 54/1280 rocket motor with a J415-6W reload. AeroDRAG predicted the vehicle reached 1,135 feet at apogee and a maximum velocity of 228.5 ft/sec at burnout. Dual timers recovered the main booster and the nose cone on separate parachutes. Images of the launch can be viewed on the Sprint ABM High Power Rocket page.
